| When and What
A white 1.8L Ford Sierra was
dismantled over the weekend of 10th and 11th May 2003. It had to
be a quick job as we needed to get rid of the mess (on my dad's drive and mum wanted rid of the mess ASAP!). We (dad an I) started at around 10ish on the Saturday, worked until it got dark, started again at 8ish on Sunday, and finally had all the bits I needed off the car by 3ish that afternoon. All cleared up by 4ish. Special thanks goes to my brother who provided a 2-ton jack and a few odd tools. Without the jack, the job would have been much more difficult !! |

What Order? Started by taking out the battery and all the wires and ancillaries off the engine. Then removed the engine by following the steps in the Haynes manual. We used a winch secured to the garage beams (made a 'goal post' to add strength) and the engine/gearbox came out with relative ease.
Then completed strip in following order:
Moved car out of garage to where it would be picked-up and taken away.
Anything else that may seem useful. Engine and gearbox separated - all engine bits taken off (including sump) engine to be scrapped with car. I am buying a recondition engine from Tiger. Car taken away on Monday 12th May 2003 for £20
